Piano lessons on your terms.
Start from the beginning, return after a break, or take your playing somewhere new.
Adult piano lessons are available in-home in the core Brooklyn neighborhoods or online. Yonathan teaches complete beginners and returning players, with priorities chosen around the music and skills you want to develop.
- No previous experience needed
- Returning-player support
- Practical practice goals
- In-home and online options
A goal that fits your life
You may want to play for pleasure, accompany a song, understand harmony or finally learn to read. Naming a useful goal helps decide what to practice first. A busy week does not have to turn the lesson into an apology for unfinished assignments.
Returning is different from starting over
A returning player may remember pieces but feel less secure reading, or understand theory while needing to rebuild coordination. Bring music you used to play, even if it is unfinished now. The lesson can identify what remains comfortable and what needs a fresh approach.
Skills beyond copying a performance
Learning by ear, reading from a score and understanding chords can support one another. Lessons can explore classical repertoire, pop accompaniments, jazz standards or improvisation without promising a shortcut around practice.
An honest schedule conversation
Tell Yonathan your general availability and whether an in-home or online format is more practical. Weekly time, rates and lesson length are agreed before booking. Specific evening or weekend openings are not promised on this page.
Questions before you begin.
Am I too old to start?
Adults are welcome to begin. The course of study is adapted to your starting point and goals rather than a child’s curriculum.
Do I need to perform at a recital?
Discuss your performance interests and any expectations when arranging lessons. Your personal musical goals are a good starting point.
Can I focus on songs rather than exams?
Yes. Your musical interests can guide the repertoire and skills covered.
Can I take lessons online?
Yes. Online lessons are available; contact Yonathan to discuss your instrument and setup.
A good lesson starts with a conversation.
Tell me the instrument, neighborhood and a few possible times. We’ll discuss the fit before you book.
