Everything you might want to know.

A few simple answers about piano and trombone lessons in Brooklyn.

Do you teach complete beginners?

Yes. Both piano and trombone lessons are available for complete beginners, as well as continuing and experienced students.

What ages do you teach?

I teach children from age five, teens, and adults. Lessons are adjusted to each student’s learning pace and interests.

Where are in-person lessons available?

I teach in students’ homes in Park Slope, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Carroll Gardens, and nearby Brooklyn neighborhoods, depending on availability.

Can you teach at our home?

Yes. In-home private lessons are the primary format. Students learn in the space where they can continue practicing between lessons.

Do you offer online lessons?

Yes. Online lessons are also available for students who prefer or need that format.

Do students need their own piano or keyboard?

A piano or keyboard is recommended for regular practice. If you don’t yet have one, I can help you think through beginner options.

What do students work on?

Lessons can include technique, reading, rhythm, ear training, classical repertoire, jazz, pop, improvisation, theory, composition, and performance preparation—according to the student’s goals.

Can you help with school band or auditions?

Yes. Trombone students can work on school ensemble music and audition preparation. Piano students can prepare repertoire and performances as well.

How long are lessons?

Lesson length is chosen based on the student’s needs and current availability. Please inquire to discuss the best fit.

How do I get started?

Send an inquiry with the student’s age, instrument, neighborhood, musical experience, and general schedule. I’ll be in touch to discuss the next steps.
